False Alarm

So often it would have happened to most of us. The alarm rings and we show agitation. We would have also been asked to evacuate the room. We keep thinking and wondering what would have gone wrong, or who might have caused this…

And it so happens to be a false alarm!! We just walk back thinking what a waste of time it was.
This state of alarming mind we experience sometimes even otherwise. We agitate and worry for no reasons. We become so uncomfortable and restless. We give no time for our mind to go logic and reason it out. We are so engaged in our anxiety.

It would take some time or even days to realize we were setting the false alarm! We end up wasting our energy and time. It takes us a while to get back to routine.

No, I have no suggestions for setting off the false alarms but… the quicker we realize it to be faulty the better for us!

Sometimes it may so happen we could even ignore our anxiety and carry on just like the way we do when the smoke detectors go on.

INDIGO: The place for book lovers

"Wow!!"- This was the first word uttered when I stepped into Indigo book store. As I stroll around I was amazed with the colorful display of the books and interiors of the book store. I was thrilled as I saw a row full of my favourites. I wanted to come once in a while atleast to just walk around. It's a perfect pleasure to my eyes!

Even before I could fully relish my excitement, the comfy chairs placed at the quiet corners of the store made me spellbound. What else could one ask for?! I was tempted to quickly grab my favorite and settle down! But I did not... As exploring the store was even more tempting :)

Fiction, Poetry, Photography, Biography, Cook Books to Travel Guides; One could find them all! The beauty is in the display of the books and their sign board which reads aloud to what it belongs!

As I approach one of the sections, the soft music of the piano kept me mesmerized. It was beautifully played by a volunteer who wanted to add more to the beauty than it could handle! This was like a day in wonder(book)land

The eBooks are just a click away. But to indulge in the fun of our favourites we got to visit Indigo! It will definitely add a fresh new perspective to reading.

"A book is a gift you can open again and again." - Garrison Keillor quote
"INDIGO is the place for you to go again and again" - My Quote :)

To have a walk amidst these elegantly laid books is the softest pleasure I ever had... And to settle down with a favorite in this perfect aura adds more to the glory!

Cheers to Indigo!!

The Glass Doors

Mira was trapped. She was caged within glass doors. It moved along with her. Scenic beauty, lakes, mountains and valley- she could view them only from the glass. People came, smiled, talked but they could not connect with her. The glass kept them away from her. Mira wanted to break open the door and merge with joy. She wanted to link, unite with all. Time went by. She struggled but could do nothing to come out of it.

She made her own little world within the glass. Everyone liked her but the glass repelled them away from her. She became unapproachable to all. She was comfortable and did her own little things from within. There was enough room for her to move but not enough to take someone in… The glass was too strong for her to liberate.

She wanted to see the world from outside, connect to people and feel the air. This seemed next to impossible as days went by. She liked her little world but she suffocated within. She yelled, screamed but no one could hear her helplessness. “Get me out of here!”

“Mira, enough…Will you?” Arman voiced.

“I wanna get out… Arman help me!”

“You got to get up! Not get out!! Now get up… lets go have a brunch.”

Mira woke and the glass broke! She was freed. “Uff!! Let’s go… I am damn hungry!”

Arman smiles and kisses her forehead. “Get out? What was that for?”

“Don’t ask me… Its tough to explain… “I dunno! Must be I had a dream… A dream which kept me long…”

“Whatever… It’s a bright day! Come Mira… Don’t make it too late”

The couple step out - Mira is elated, Arman is all smiles…

The overcast

Peter was getting ready for work. He checks the temperature on his iPhone. It said overcast… very similar to his state of mind. Dressed in suit, he smirks at his looks. Contemplating his mood, he takes a different route towards his office. There was enough time to deviate and he was safe to reach on time.

Today he did not make the usual mistake of waiting for Nancy to come along. Time and experience had taught him to let go of certain things. And today he had to let go of the anticipation and long standing wish to take Nancy along. He was certain she would refuse as before at the nick of time… Nancy came up with a different excuse each time and it amused him!

He was so amused that, as years went by, just to know the excuse he used to call her!

Nancy and Peter have sustained their relation for a long time. After her parents separated, Nancy decided to stay with her dad. Thus, she knew Peter well. When Peter leaves to office early, it’s only to meet his wife. Nancy never met her mom after the break up.

“It is not your fault dad; I don’t understand why you have to meet that woman! Why do you have to impose so much on her to come back?” Peter does not even ponder at Nancy’s words. His love for Catherine has not changed over years.

Catherine dressed elegantly and was as always on top of her wits and humour. “Peter, you are late! Was it the suit or our daughter? What kept you long?” Peter gazes at Catherine. “Oh come on, the weather seems to reflect on you! Cheer up!” Catherine’s voice told her age and the modulation her attitude.

The graying of her hair had nothing to do with her attitude. She was as always- upbeat! Peter had lost it- both the age and liveliness. He was now adamant not to lose his love!

“I love you, Catherine… Come back!” Peter gives a faint smile. “Peter, I would never come back till you move forward…” Catherine beams for having said something striking! “I don’t understand… You loved me for what I was… Isn’t?” Peter’s naïve question needed a mature answer!

“Peter, I am getting late… and so are you… Let’s walk.” They walk towards the parking. “Peter, Wait! Let me answer you today!”

“I love you even today… Its just that you have forgotten to acknowledge life and stopped loving your life!” Catherine paused and Peter stares. “Love your life and then I would move into your life”.

Peter had to rush. It was about time to reach office. Catherine moves ahead… Much ahead and disappears into the crowd… Peter takes the route- the familiar one as always.

Oh My God!

The smile of yours is so soothing
Makes me forget the past and ignore the rest

The gaze of yours is so strong
Melts my mistakes and burns my ignorance

Make me believe that you are there
Make me believe that you listen

The smile of yours… so soothing
The gaze of yours… so strong
I love you God… the more I glorify

Make me feel the distance is an illusion
Make me feel that the closeness is reality

Let me stare at you day and night
Take me a little forward
Take me a little ahead

Let it not be a mere routine
Let it be fun, a jolly time
To think of you, to talk about you

Let me not ask… Let me not question
Let me not ponder… Let me not wonder
On anything and everything

Let me merge and sink in your joy
Doubtless I wanna be… that you there for me
Bold should I be… that you gonna be there for me
Sure should I be… that you listen to me

The smile of yours… so soothing
The gaze of yours… so strong
I love you God… the more I gaze

Good Old Days Vs Good Now Days

The past, no matter how much we clutch on to, will never fill up the space of now. It can never be manipulated for better. The ‘Now’ no matter how hard we try to connect with the past, it simply does not happen!

Each moment is so unique. Vacuum fills in, the more concentrated we get to be in ‘now’. The same ‘now’ has so much to tell when it becomes the past.
The future or the past fills our mind with varied thoughts. The same when it was ‘now’ had nothing much to ponder… Amazing!

Most (or some) times we find that the now has such a calming effect and the later has an alarming effect.

The Goodness of now is measured only when it becomes past. We rarely appreciate the ‘now’ as we are too busy doing things or too idle thinking the past (or future).

If we see ‘now’ with such simplicity, will it complicate our tomorrow? If our good old days were never a part of ‘now’, then does ‘now’ imply anything at all? But the moment lived now is all that matters… A moment of now when lived in delight makes us wish it goes on… becomes eternal… and the moment that thought plunges in, we are no longer in now!

We have already won (W-O-N-O-W) if we live for now!

The Reunion

It was not any ordinary day in Mira’s life. Arman’s simple question “Did we click?” on the third day of their talk, changed Mira’s life altogether. It was neither the love that developed gradually nor the love at first sight. It was a reunion. The long forgotten friend reappeared in her life. This was what Mira felt on their first meeting. So without much ado she just said “Yes!”

It was too obvious for Mira that it was their first rendezvous. But Arman was too oblivious of this fact. He talked too casual and was not too keen on Mira. Mira didn’t know on how to react to his casualness. He did not pay too much attention to what she talked but Mira was too attentive about what she said!

Everything seemed usual, an add-on to the family was not too apparent. Her family had accepted him as 'their boy' already. He easily mingled with everyone. Mira had to yet sink-in with the flow. “Time – the healer”, she gently smiles and picks up his call. She walks by the known path as she talks, but knows for sure that she got to take a new one along with him. The acceptance was at ease and there were no adjustments to make. Mira walks on and wonders if she is overlooking anything…

A gentle breeze reminds her that she just has to leave it to the nature… After all life can get simpler and the thinking more complex…
